How is the equipment connected to the SwoopFiber network?
The equipment is connected to the SwoopFiber network through a series of steps during the installation process:
- Fiber Optic Cable Installation: SwoopFiber technicians install fiber optic cables that connect your premises to the SwoopFiber network. These cables carry high-speed data using light pulses.
- External Connection Point: The fiber optic cable is connected to an external connection point, often located on a utility pole or in a nearby access point.
- Indoor Wiring: The fiber optic cable is extended into your home or office, typically through existing conduits or designated pathways. Indoor wiring is set up to facilitate the connection.
- Optical Network Terminal (ONT) Installation: The Optical Network Terminal (ONT), a device that converts fiber optic signals into internet signals, is installed inside your premises. This device is connected to the incoming fiber optic cable.
- Router/Residential Gateway Connection: If SwoopFiber provides a router, it is connected to the ONT. The router manages the distribution of internet signals to your devices, either wired or wirelessly.
- Configuration and Testing: The installation team configures the ONT and the router to ensure optimal performance. Testing is conducted to verify the integrity of the connection and check for the expected upload and download speeds.
- Customer Devices Connection: Your devices, such as computers, smartphones, or smart TVs, are then connected to the router or directly to the ONT, establishing the link to the SwoopFiber network.
