What are the different types of Fiber Optic Broadband deployments, and how do they affect my internet experience?
- FTTP (Fiber-to-The-Premises): Direct fiber connection to homes or businesses, offering the fastest speeds and symmetrical upload/download rates.
- FTTC (Fiber-to-The-Curb): Fiber extends to a nearby cabinet with the final connection via copper or coaxial cables. Faster than DSL, but not as fast as FTTP.
- FTTN (Fiber-to-The-Node): Fiber to a neighborhood node, with existing cables to homes. Offers better speeds than DSL but may not match FTTP or FTTC in performance.
